From around 1850, the estate was known as “Clos de Chambrun”. It was bought by the Cholet family in 1930 and sold in 1994 to Jean-Philippe Janoueix, who renamed it CHÂTEAU DE CHAMBRUN. In May 2007, Swiss entrepreneur Silvio W. Denz became the new proprietor of CHATEÂU DE CHAMBRUN.
The vine plots of CHÂTEAU DE CHAMBRUN are located in Néac (3 miles east of the town of Libourne), between 115 and 165 feet above sea level.
Silvio Denz is convinced of the estate's huge potential and said on purchasing it: “We intend to use the tools best suited to the meticulous work of optimising the potential of the vines and the winemaking process in order to further enhance the quality of CHÂTEAU DE CHAMBRUN. We also benefit from the advice of world-renowned oenologist Michel Rolland.”
